OneStar Converse: Everyone is a star

flora haniitizo, photographer
"the light is very atmospheric, that is what it has been described.
i guess this comes from how sentimental i am because i move around all my life."
"it is a form of catching instances & how to house memories to film."
"my photographs are just very quiet and they just hold an instance that i don't want to forget.
i am just so visually over stimulated all the time so i try to look for beauty in the most mundane everyday life."

"when i saw the phonebook stacks, i thought oh so nice, just so simple.
i get very inspired by music.
i usually make a playlist before i start shooting so it gets my mind moving.
because everything is like a movie, like a 5 min movie.
perhaps i live in lala land.
i like to listen to people and be very open.
but i talk alot too. haha.."

tacee, environmentalist
diesel run by vegetable oil, it is not a new thing.
i think that throughout history, a lot of social changes require feminine touch.
it is very close to my heart, i am really emotional about it because i feel that i really can't be doing anything more important for the planet.
we can make an immediate change, an immediate impact by doing simple things.
we want to leave the planet a better place for our kids.

adam
"no matter what i do i try to stay passionate 100% to it.
a lot of us live through live, you know, doing it half way, doing it for a percent enough to get by.
if you don't give a 100%, there is no reason to be out there.
you want to know, whenever you leave work.. whatever you do.. you want to know you leave with no regrets.
you want to know if leave one note knowing you give everything you have into that.
everyone waits to be call in for dinner, we keep playing until we can't play anymore."

melissa, cowgirl
"i have fallen off from a rodeo but i love at this shoulder..
you learn and everything you make a mistake, it is like you know ok next time i wouldn't do this or do that.
once you fall, you just get up.
you can't be afraid to fall off.
there is saying you are not a true cowboy or cowgirl till you fall off..
so i am kinda happy when i do fall off, i am still learning...
if you ever take a picture of me falling down, i will be smiling.
there is always something happening at the range, there is never a dull moment."

gena, drummer & singer
"i think that drumming is a lot like dancing.
as for creativity as a musician, you got to be open and inspired like you are really giving up yourself.
and i love it so much."
